Big Switch OFF
October 17th
People across Leicestershire are being urged to switch off wasteful electrical appliances and switch to a greener lifestyle.
The Big Switch Off is calling on everyone to make the effort to turn off items which are usually left on stand-by - all on the same day, Friday October 17.
The event runs from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, although organisers hope the benefits of the drive will last much longer. The aim is to reduce energy consumption and raise awareness of energy conservation and efficiency, to change people's habits for the better - and for good.
